My activity

I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

I’m taking part in ActiveApril and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.  I was diagnosed in 2019 and have had lots of treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and 8 operations to date and I would love to raise awareness of this disease so others do not have to go through the same as me.  

As we know, early detection is key to a cure.  

The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all. 


Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity and we're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.


Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.

Fundraising with my mate Tom!

Tuesday 8th Apr
So, Tom & I are fundraising together again. He is cycling to & from Chislehurst to my parent’s house in Leicester on Good Friday which is 400km & we’re trying to raise £4000! 
For Active April (with huge help from my Dad, Peter’s, sponsors & loads of friends & family) we are already over £2000 as at 8th April. Please help us reach our target & let’s raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer. Thanks so much!

Tuesday 8th Apr
So, we've been away for a few days to Zante!  Wouldn't have believed it possible only just a couple of weeks ago as was still really struggling with recovery post-op and not being able to eat and having lost a lot of weight and strength.  Thanks to some amazing people at St Christopher's hospice locally, they prescribed some different drugs which turned things around and made me able to want to eat again and gain enough strength to be able to look forward again.  Dan had booked this trip, unbeknownst to me, weeks ago when I was in hospital, in the hope that I would be recovered enough to go.  He only told me four days before travel what the plan was!   A  good thing too otherwise it would've felt impossible.  Special assistance through the  airport and an easy car hire and straight to beautiful villa made it all easy.  We had a few days very chilled with small bits of activity to keep the Active April spirit going; trip to a shipwreck, taverna lunch, sightseeing, sunbathing.  What a lovely trip.  Thank you so much to my amazing Dan for organising it all.
