I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity and we're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
I’m diving into Swim15 this August and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.

My reason for taking up this challenge
Monday 5th AugOn the 12th March 1989 aged just 57 years my mother-in-law, Jean Margaret Norman aka ‘Nana Norman’ lost her fight with bowel cancer leaving a husband, daughter, son and three-year-old granddaughter behind.
Next year I will be 57 with a husband, daughter and three-year-old granddaughter and I cannot even start to comprehend the thought of not being in their lives, especially my granddaughters anymore.
So as the new ‘Nana Norman’ and in memory of Jean and my late sister-in-law Sandra Jeffray (Jnr) who also died of bowel cancer aged 45 I’m swimming 15Km in August to raise money so that one day no one else has to leave this world ahead of time.
