What is Swim15?

Swim15 is our annual fundraising challenge where we ask you to take the plunge during August, either swim 15km during the month or choose your own challenge. Why? Because every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed with bowel cancer. 

When does Swim15 take place?

The challenge runs from 1 August 2024 to 31 August 2024, and you can complete your chosen swimming challenge at any point during the month.

How much is it to register?

It's free to sign up to Swim15 and we'll send you a free swimming badge once you receive your first donation.Register today

What type of swimming challenge could I set myself?

There are many ways to include the number 15 in your challenge. Here are some examples:

  • Swim 15km throughout August
  • Swim 15 lengths every day in August
  • Swim for 15 days during August

When will my swimming badge arrive?

Badges will be posted weekly in batches, and should arrive five to seven days from the despatch date.

If you haven't received your badge 10 days after you received your first donation, please email community@bowelcanceruk.org.uk

How can I join the Facebook group?

Once you have registered you will receive a link to the private Facebook group. In the group you'll be able to share updates about your activity in August, chat to others taking part and ask us any questions you have.

Fundraising

How much do I have to raise?

We ask everyone taking part in the event to commit to raising a minimum of £100 to help us continue to fund our vital services and lifesaving research.

What happens if I don't reach the fundraising target?

While we ask everyone to commit to raising £100 to help support our work, we're grateful for every pound raised.

I've already hit my fundraising target. Do I need to continue fundraising?

Congratulations and thank you for raising £100! The more you raise, the more work we can do to support everyone affected by bowel cancer. Every pound makes a difference 

How do I set up my fundraising page?

When you register for the challenge, your page will be automatically created for you.

You can the personalise your page by adding photos, your story, and updating your fundraising target and swimming activity throughout August.

Can I raise money offline?

Yes. You can download your offline sponsorship form here. We recommend raising money online where you can.

How do I pay in sponsorship raised offline?

If you’ve raised money offline, you can send it to us in the following ways:

Paying it into your online fundraising page
You can choose to pay in a donation raised offline to your fundraising page by clicking the 'Add offline donation' button on your page.

Cheque

Please make cheques payable to Bowel Cancer UK and send them to our address below with a note including your name and 'Swim15':

Bank transfer

You can make a donation straight into our bank account either online or by visiting any Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch. If you'd like to do this, email us at community@bowelcanceruk.org.uk for our account details.

Online

Pay in on our website using a credit or debit card. Please use the reference 'Swim15' when making your payment.

Phone

Call us on 020 7940 1769 to pay in your sponsorship over the phone using a credit or debit card.
