I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

Recently Bowel Cancer affected my family when my dad diagnosed following a routine screening. However, he is one of the lucky ones and it was caught early at Stage 2 and the treatment so far has been a success and he is in remission.

To see more people surging and thriving despite a diagnosis, Bowel Cancer UK are aiming to have 7 in 10 people diagnosed early at Stages 1 to 2 by 2028.

In order to do this, more funding and research is needed and that is why I’m taking part in the Swim15 challenge this August. I will need to swim 15km over the month and am hoping to raise money along the way.

This disease is treatable and curable if caught early and any money I raise will help them continue the invaluable work they are doing to make early diagnosis a reality.

15km swim done ✅ (and with a few days to spare!) 🏊🏼‍♀️🎉

While I still can’t tell you in ‘real’ terms how far 15km is, I can tell you it’s a lot of lengths if you’ve only got access to a 12m pool 😂

A special shout out to Pip Wood for being there while I swam a mind numbing amount of lengths and Jackie Pick for being the best campaign manager I could wish for!
