I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK and My Grandma

Bowel cancer is something that is very close to my heart as one of my closest family members passed away from this life changing diagnosis. My Grandma was one of my best friends and an inspiration to not only me but everyone she met. She drove my ambition to become a nurse, forever putting others before herself and giving the highest quality of care and love not only to her patients but to her family too. This diagnosis took my grandma away from us all leaving a massive hole in our hearts, but the fondest of memories. I myself now work as a cancer nurse, and see bowel cancer so often. I hope my fundraising can help make a difference, and make my Grandma proud. Thank you x

I’m diving into Swim15 this August and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.

I’VE DONE IT!!

Friday 30th Aug
So today marked my last swim of august and I am beyond proud of myself to say I completed the Swim15 challenge - I infact swam 16km in the end.

Today’s swim I managed to swim 120 lengths totalling 3km and I have to say this was fuelled by the support my amazing family and friends have given me.

This charity is so close to my heart after losing my amazing Grandma to bowel cancer, and all I could think about whilst swimming today was her. I hope she is as proud of me as I am of her. She was an incredible Grandma, Mother, Wife and nurse, always putting everyone before herself right up until the end. Not a day goes past where I don’t think about her and I am so glad I could follow in her footsteps to become a nurse, and I’ll do anything to be even half the nurse she was ❤️  raising money for this charity is the least I could do - so any final donations would be greatly appreciated as the last day of august is tomorrow.

Thank you for everyone who has donated or supported me. Love you so much Grandma 🥰❤️
