I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

I’m going to be getting active every day in April, please support me and donate today.

Unexpected set back

Friday 25th Apr

Unfortunately I've had to pause my calendar of activities due to unforeseen circumstances.

I feel awful for having to but I will absolutely be taking it into May when I am able to.

At this point I would really like to reiterate just how important funding is, for this and other charities. Research, treatment, counselling, support, general advice, and anything else that's needed is so crucial, which is why I'm determined to complete my calendar even if it's a little later than planned!

The walk today was beautiful.

I had so many thoughts going round and round as I walked today and took in the scenery, but mainly that we must make the most of our time.

Weymouth is as welcoming as ever, I still would love to retire here even if it may just be a dream.

Thursday 17th Apr

So these last couple of days I've taken it a little slowly as health wise I've not been great.

We are over half way through though and even little activities still count!

This fundraiser is so important to me because of the charity I'm doing it for so I hope the donations keep coming even though I've slowed down a bit for the minute.

Hoping to have an action packed Easter weekend and be able to get some outdoor swimming in, we shall see but either way I will... Keep moving forward!

Precious life

Sunday 13th Apr

Had to push myself a bit harder to do something today.

I completed an hour run (with a couple of breaks to take pics), succumbed to nature a number of times as it's so healing.

Life is so precious and denied to many so I try and always make sure I make the most of it.

Sometimes with the worry of cancer, the treatment, the effects on loved ones through it, we forget that we owe it to those going through it themselves and those who have had their lives cut short, to enjoy our time on this earth.

I try and live how they would want us to no matter how hard.

Kids are brutal!!

Thursday 10th Apr

I worked out with weights today to start, then went into some floor strength work and finished with stretching... Only to have my daughter say she wanted 30 star jumps to finish!

I did as she ordered as it's all for a good cause and donations are still coming in!

Now time for a bath I think!

Home workout

Monday 7th Apr

So this morning I went back to my favourite person when it comes to workouts... Davina Mccall!

She helped me stay active and positive after each of my children when I had post natal depression. I always seem to go for her videos when my mind isn't in a good place and she perks me up!

To anyone who isn't feeling very active, just find a basic 'beginners' vid and enjoy!

First day

Tuesday 1st Apr

Quick note on the first day of my Active April!

Had my calendar filled by my two oldest sons, it's a bit adventurous but they started me off slowly with a walk!

Emotional as it would be my Grandad's earth birthday today and he was everything to me and mine, but I thought of all the happy memories as I walked in the lovely sunshine.
