I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
I’m taking part in Active April to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer.
I aim to walk 100 miles throughout April (not in one day) to raise much needed funds for Bowel Cancer UK.
I will upload my daily miles total to Facebook to update everyone of my progress.
I myself was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in August 2024. This completely floored me as I had no obvious symptoms. My only symptoms were weight loss and pale skin which I had put down to working more hours and being more active and not getting much sun. I only went to the doctors for a blood test for the weight loss because a few concerned friends nagged me every day to get it checked. I am so glad I did.
My tumour was caught early and was removed surgically 4 weeks later in September 2024. Thankfully, it was contained and no chemo was required. I am now 6 months clear and currently on a 5 year surveillance plan. I am one of the lucky ones.
If caught early, Bowel Cancer is highly treatable and curable.
The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

My dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer and so I took the Fit test through the post in November. - I got the all clear on 23rd Nov. 2024 - unfortunately my dad passed away the following day. - love you and what you have done babes. xxx. ❤️❤️
