I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

I’m going to be getting active every day in April, please support me and donate today.

My updates

Day 7

Tuesday 8th Apr
Back to work today. I work in the most beautiful place. I’m so incredibly lucky.
I completed a short walk before work with Winnie (forgot my phone), then another walk in the Lyth Valley after work.

Day 6

Sunday 6th Apr
Haven’t updated this for a couple of days so need to bring everything up to date.
The last couple of days have been close to home with early morning and evening walks. It’s been a bit warm for Winnie. Beautiful weather to help me along.
I’ve reached £200 so thank you so much to everyone who’s sponsored me. I’m so very grateful

Day 2

Wednesday 2nd Apr
Today I did my walk at one of my favourite places, Bolton Abbey. Much of my childhood was spent here making happy memories

Day 1

Tuesday 1st Apr
Day 1. Completed a walk from Threshfield to Linton and return. A beautiful day spent with good friends

3 Days to go

Saturday 29th Mar
With 3 days to go before my Active April challenge begins, I spent the day in Langdale with my good friend Jayne. We visited Cathedral Cave which I haven’t been to for many years, although I’ve walked in the Langdale. Today was a real treat, despite the horrendous weather which descended. A good time spent with a good friend in the great outdoors. My idea of heaven!

Active April -My Challenge

Thursday 27th Mar
I decided to do the ActiveApril challenge to raise money for something which is very close to my heart. I lost a former work colleague and friend to bowel cancer in 2020. Geoff was someone I got to know better when he was fighting bowel cancer, although I’d known him for several years. He was a lovely man, full of fun and kindness. A musician, a good trainer, a Dad.
Bowel cancer has become something I’ve been more aware of these last few years as another good friend battles it too and for that reason I’d like to do something to raise funds and awareness too.
I will be completing at least 5k every day in April
