I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Last March I was diagnosed with bowel cancer and needed surgery to remove a tumour. Because it was caught early, cancer hadn’t spread and the surgery was completely successful at removing it all.
As a thank you to my surgeon -and the NHS team who looked after me - I asked him to suggest a charity to fundraise for and he named Bowel Cancer UK.
The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
I’m going to be getting active every day in April, please support me and donate today.

Wednesday 30th Apr Thanks so much to everyone who has supported and donated over the last few weeks 💛 I haven’t done any fundraising like this before and wasn’t sure what it would be like. My activities were certainly different to what I’d planned as I had to adjust around illness and energy levels, so it ended up being more of a record of my normal life for the month! Among the frustration and disappointment of that, I also knew it was important to look after myself and go slow. Nonetheless, I’ve appreciated the focus to be mindful and grateful in what I have been able to do.
