I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Last year, I received an emergency colonoscopy due to suspected bowel cancer. My symptoms came on very suddenly and action was swiftly taken by my GP and the team at the hospital to investigate them. Despite being very scared and unsure of what was going to happen, I was treated with the upmost respect and compassion and was put through the pathway as quickly as possible. Thankfully I was cleared of any cancer. Spreading awareness of bowel cancer and its possible symptoms is a cause that is very dear to my heart.
The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
