My activity

I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.


The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all. After having a recent FIT test come back positive and 8/9 months of symptoms, I have been going through an urgent referral for suspected cancer and further investigation. Until you find out you can’t rule it out. I’m grateful for the funding that allows these referrals to happen and while I await more results, I hope the money I raise can go towards helping others that unfortunately received a diagnosis. 


I’m going to be getting active every day in April, which is still quite the challenge given my recent leg injury that I’m still recovering from! So please support me and donate today.

Tuesday 29th Apr
More time in the garden!! Sewing some seeds yesterday and today mowing the lawn and trying to revive the Azalea bush 🤣

3 DAYS LEFT! Today I spent a good chunk sorting out the garden, repotting veg, weeding beds etc etc. nearly 1K steps in a tiny garden is quite a feat for me lol

Went back to the market again today for the spring market they had going on! Great to see some familiar faces

Happy Good Friday! Easter weekend will be spent monitoring the garden and keeping everything watered! Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, been struggling a lot with my stomach symptoms so finding it really hard at the moment!

Absolutely mammoth gardening day! Veg planted, plug plants repotted and potatoes ready to go 💪🏻

Still recovering from a flare up so played a round of darts… can you guess which double I needed 🤣🤣

Had a bad day today managing my symptoms so a gentle stroll around the garden was today’s activity. Frustrating living in limbo awaiting referrals when all you want to do is live your life

Double figures!! Today was a 20 minute walk before and after a work event in Sheffield, the uni quarter is so lovely! 

Day 9 🎯

Wednesday 9th Apr
Another rest day today ahead of a long work event tomorrow afternoon/evening! Round of darts in which my brother completely thrashed me for once lol

Tuesday 8th Apr
A morning of volunteering followed by a quick 15 minute walk before work this afternoon! Had a lot of trouble with my symptoms this weekend so taking it a little easier

Monday 7th Apr
This week is super work heavy, and today’s activity was literally work! Photography definitely keeps you active lol

Sunday 6th Apr
Back out in the garden today pruning the buddleias and rhododendron! Always a HUGE job and took nearly 4 hours in total 😅 Rhododendron needed a massive cut so no flowers for a couple years but will be worth it to get a lovely shape 💪🏻 I’m working the RHS flower show later this year so getting the practice in while fundraising!

Had a rest day today so activity was round of darts (I won obviously)

Found a glorious new walking spot, almost at the end of the first week!
