My journey

Friday 7th Mar I survived cancer I can remember it like yesterday I was having trouble going I kept putting it off going to the doctor's and one day  the pain got too much so I booked an appointment and went he did a  few test and examined me and said you will be needing to have some camera's done didn't say what the reason for this so I waited for appointment to be sorted it came I went had them done once they were over I had to wait to a consultant I think it was a blur I remember sit talking my partner was with and they ask do you know why you was sent to have this done I replied no the doctor didn't say why fast forward abit them words I'm sorry but it's not good news you have cancer my world fell apart all I could think of was my children my question was am I going to die and they reassured me I wouldn't. Things have come a long way in treatment wise so I left the hospital with a little hope on the way home with these papers thinking how the hell am I going to tell my children I'm heartbroken and just kept crying. I gets home to where I have to wait a few days until my children return from Thier dad's as I wasn't going to tell them over a call I wanted them with me to sit them down to tell them and be able to console them while they processed the news but I didn't tell my youngest straight away as I wanted to give my older two time,time went by I had my radiotherapy & chemotherapy, operation after operation and two different stomas until I had my reversal operation last year bare it in mind I start the cancer journey back in 2020 first operation in 2021 but now I'm in remission having to have regular check ups and blood  test Share
