I'm fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
For those that don’t know…. In early Feb, I went to donate blood and was told my iron might be low. A follow-up blood test confirmed this, and a stool test came back positive, leading to a colonoscopy.
On 4th March, I had the procedure and they found a tumour, and diagnosed bowel (colon) cancer.
It was a huge shock as I’ve had no symptoms beyond tiredness, which I put down to life. Thankfully, scans show it hasn’t spread to other organs.
I’m having surgery in April to remove part of my colon and surrounding lymph nodes. If the nodes are clear, no chemo is needed—just the op. If not, chemo will fol
It’s a major operation with a long recovery, but I’m feeling relieved and grateful it wasn’t worse.
I’m taking part in ActiveApril for Bowel Cancer UK and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
I’m going to be getting active every day in April, please support me and donate today.
