I am fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity and we're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

I am taking part in Walkies Together during September with Monty and Bess. They are my dog home boarders and they will be wearing the charity dog bandana. We will be walking at least 43 miles in memory of loved ones whose lives have been sadly lost to bowel cancer.  Please support me and my fundraising. I have already smashed my target, but will continue to raise as much as possible for something that is very close to my heart (having just lost my dear friend to this). 

Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.

The funds I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.

Reached Target and Still Walking

I reached my target a couple of days ago.
But I am still walking over the remaining days in September to get to 64 miles.

My First Walk with Bess

Saturday 14th Sep
Monty went home on Thursday morning and Bess was dropped off yesterday afternoon. She is older girl (13 years), so we only did just under a mile yesterday afternoon. We are doing about two miles each day with our morning and afternoon walks. Plus enjoying the lovely sunshine at the moment.

Yesterdays Walk

Tuesday 10th Sep

I am planning a longer walk with Monty today (he goes home on Thursday morning). Bess will be arriving on Friday and she will be continuing Walkies Together with me.
 

Small Local Business Donations

Sunday 8th Sep
It was quite a wet day again yesterday, Monty and I still walked about four miles. Also, we collected £80 in generous cash donations from small local businesses. We will be calling into some more businesses on Tuesday. 

Another Wet Day

Friday 6th Sep
We walked almost two miles this morning trying to avoid the rain. Unfortunately, Monty still got wet, but he really enjoyed being dried with a towel. We are walking again this afternoon and I will post the total miles, steps and time then. 

My First Walk with Monty Today

Tuesday 3rd Sep
Monty was dropped off this morning.
We completed our first walk of just over three miles today.
I put the bandana on the end of his lead, which I decided was better than on his harness. We are going to visit some small local businesses on Friday to ask for sponsorship.
