I’m fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK

I’m taking part in Walkies Together with my lovely Darcy this September to raise funds and help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We will walk 43 miles in September to raise money for the cause. Please support me if you can.

As some people know I was diagnosed with a genetic condition in 2019 which guaranteed I would get bowel cancer by the time I was 40 unless I had my large intestine removed. Unfortunately, when it was removed in 2020 I was one of the unlucky ones and had already developed bowel cancer and went on to have cancer treatment. Prior to 2019 I fought for a year to get a diagnosis from my GP as I knew something was wrong despite blood tests etc coming back clear. I dread to think what would have happened had I listened to them and not my own body.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone and the funds raised will help support people with the disease and provide funding for research and training GPs to ensure people are diagnosed as early as possible to give them the best chance.
